Why does the compact design of a shower tray siphon matter?

Why does the compact design of a shower tray siphon matter?

Height is not everything – the turning radius also matters

Choosing the right shower tray siphon is a key stage in bathroom design, especially when aiming for modern, barrier-free solutions that are easy to maintain. Most attention is usually given to the height of the siphon, which is indeed crucial—the lower it is, the easier it fits within floor layers, simplifying installation in thin floors or during renovations of older buildings.

ut this is not the only parameter worth considering. Another, often overlooked yet equally important aspect is the turning radius of the siphon, i.e. the distance from the vertical axis of the drain to the end of the horizontal outlet.

What is the turning radius and why is it important?

The turning radius determines how much horizontal space is needed to connect the siphon to the drainage system. The smaller the radius, the greater the installation flexibility—especially in tight spaces or where access to the main sewer line is limited.
